Practical and educational sessions were held at the Palace of Sports in Minsk from 14 to 17 July 2022.

21 07 2022 Seminar

Minsk hosted a 4-day referees seminar as part of the Cooperation Agreement implementation between the BBF and the RFB and in order to prepare referees to officiate the competitions in Russia and Students’ Basketball Association (ASB) competitions in particular. The main lecturer was the President of the RFB Academic and Methodological Commission – Fedor Dmitriev.

We took tests from referees recommended by the BBF to officiate ASB games (the Russian Railways Student League and the Belov League)” says Fedor Dmitriev. “For a successful work and an approved license, it was necessary to pass the following exams: a body fat percentage test (according to the FIBA and the RBF Regulations and Recommendations); a "Metronome" physical test (passed by referees twice per year); basketball rules knowledge and the Regulations knowledge. It was very nice to see so many referees, especially young ones. I am glad that there are more new faces every year, which means that the work on referees preparation in Belarus does not stop”. Results and quality of refereeing are growing during competition and teamwork. Based on the results of the comprehensive examination, the Commission, including myself, the Chairman of the Republican Referee Collegium – Piotr Ivashkov, and the Chairman of the Educational, Methodological and Review Commission – Dmitriy Lvovich, approved the list of referees and sent it to the ASB office for approval.  I am sure that these referees will officiate the League tours not only in Belarus, but also the foreign ones. Therefore, young referees will have excellent international practice, which will serve as a good incentive for further growth. I am satisfied with the seminar. Everything was at a very high level. It's nice that the leadership of the BBF provided excellent conditions for the event: a European-level hall and a conference hall for demonstrations, analysis and feedback. Thanks again to the Federation for their support and interest in finding young talents."
