“I am very glad that the games of the competition were officiated by girls”, Fedor Dmitriev shares his impressions. “Everything was at a very high level. Although it was a big risk since the National Teams of Belarus U-16 and Russia U-18 were rivals and both set high goals. The quality of the referees’ work is out of question, as I knew their level of preparation. I am pleased with how Lizaveta Famina, the most experienced of the six, officiated the games. Others officiated at the high professional level as well. Some referees have less experience, but they were well prepared and motivated. They got feedback during breaks, during post-game period, and in the morning after each game day we had a video analysis, paid attention to all aspects, including psychological communication. I was a little worried before the start of the competition because that seemed to be a bit risky but the result showed that we need to trust the young. For example, Taisia Valendo, who has the least experienced, made incredibly right decisions. Of course, Liza set the pace. It was a great experiment. I hope this tradition continues. It is necessary to make way for the young, then all the doors and opportunities for further would only grow. I would like to wish the Belarusian Basketball Federation success in promoting our sport."
