- The whole range of issues under the responsibility of the Foreign Minister makes it more and more necessary to concentrate on foreign policy, and less and less time left for tasks related to the development of basketball, said Maksim Ryzhenkov. – Obviously, there is a question of choosing and electing a person who will be able to concentrate more on basketball issues. It is common knowledge that this sport is a priority and one of the leading sports in our country. In addition, due to the fact that the election date is approaching and there is no possibility to elect a serious person for the responsible public position, it was decided that the Executive Committee of the Federation will continue to work in the same composition for a temporary period during which a successor will be chosen and presented to the basketball community as a candidate for the post of President. The Head of State supported this position and set a number of tasks for the leadership of the Federation, with an involvement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in order to develop the sport and maximize the participation of basketball in international events. Therefore, in the near future, I will have to focus on finding a successor and fulfilling the tasks set by the President.
