An official ceremony took place in the city of Minsk on February 17, 2022 as part of a VTB United League game between the Minsk's Tsmoki-Minsk and St. Petersburg’s Zenith to celebrate the birthday of BC Minsk-2006 president Yuri Shakola.
The president of the BBF Maxim Ryzhenkov noted the valuable contribution of Yuri Ivanovich not only to the development of basketball in capital clubs but also to the training of men's National teams, whose results have shown significant progress in the international arena in recent years. During the course of almost 12 years when Shakola has been heading the club, a solid infrastructure has been established enabling the teams to successfully compete in national and international championships as well as prestigious international tournaments under the auspices of FIBA and providing opportunities for top level training of national basketball and 3x3 basketball teams athletes.
Deputy president Andrey Balabin also greeted Yuri Shakola and presented him with a TV set from the "5 Element", a reliable partner of the BBF and the Minsk-2006 club.
