Following the successful holding of the U19 World Cups in 2021 among boys and girls, the International Basketball Federation has updated the system for calculating the rating of youth teams. Now the basic principle of points distribution will be the same as that of the adult system, which was introduced in 2017 before the start of the qualifying period for the 2019 World Cup.

The rating will be calculated based on the results of the last two U-17 and U-19 World Cups and the Continental Youth Championships. This will replace the system where the rankings were based on an eight-year period.

Americans - the winners of the U17 and U19 World Cups, head the girls’ rating list. In second place are the representatives of Australia, and the representatives of France are close the top three. China holds the 4th position, and the Spaniards - the fifth. The Belarusian team has moved up by three points and is now in 35th position in the world rankings and 19th in Europe. The US team is also in first place for the boys’ rankings, the Spaniards are in second, and France in third. The Canadian team is on the fourth position, and the Turkish team closes the top 5. Belarusians still occupy the 62th position in the world rankings and 27th among European teams. Full team rating HERE.
