Today, on February 5, 2022, our national team was unable to fly to Osaka for the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup-2022 Qualifying Tournament.
A significant part of the players and coaches had coronavirus detected immediately before departure, and in addition to the fact that the team members are first-level contacts, some other players got symptoms at the airport, which made it virtually impossible to participate in the Qualifying Tournament, taking into account quarantine restrictions. In these conditions, as well as in order to prevent the health of the remaining team members during a very long flight to Osaka, the Belarusian Basketball Federation, together with the Ministry of Sports and Tourism, made a difficult decision.
Now our team will focus on preparing for the FIBA Women's EuroBasket-2023 qualification matches, which will be held in November.
