On November 25, on the court of the capital's Sports Palace, the National team of Belarus beat their rivals from Turkey 84:70.
Starting lineup of the National team of Belarus: Maksim Salash, Yauheni Beliankou, Artsiom Parakhouski, Kiryl Sitnik, Uladzislau Blizniuk.
3 minutes after the start of the match, the numbers 5:6 were burning on the scoreboard, not in favor of the National team of Belarus. During the first break, the team of Belarus left as leaders with a score of 20:17, which definitely made the Turks nervous.
However, at the start of the second quarter, the National team of Turkey tried to turn the tide of events. By the 15th minute of the match, the head coach of the National team of Belarus let on the court all 12 basketball players announced for the game, which definitely contributed to maintaining a high playing rhythm. In general, this evening the National team of Belarus was good at interactions, especially in defense. However, the individual actions of Maksim Salash also cannot be ignored: by the long break, leading 43:34, Maxim managed to score 18 points.
In the second half of the match, the National team of Belarus not only did not slow down, but on the contrary, added even more at both ends of the court. Despite the fact that 4 minutes before the end of the 3rd quarter, the Turks managed to get closer (53:49), three-point hits by Yevgeny Belyankov and 2 points from Darol Hernandez-Zinenko allowed the Belarusians to keep the lead before the final quarter 61 : 53.
And yet, in such a game with such an opponent as Turkey, the advantage in +8 can hardly be called the guarantor of the final success. Therefore, it is doubly valuable that the Belarusian national team managed to maintain concentration and show character in the final 10 minutes. Less than 4 minutes before the final siren, the powerful dunk of Uladzislau Mikulski, which, moreover, the rivals tried to stop not according to the rules, led to a two-digit advantage of the national team of Belarus 75:64. In the remaining time, the Turks tried to organize a pursuit, which almost always led to hasty and imprecise attacks. In turn, the National team of Belarus confidently and unshakably went to a well-deserved victory, which, perhaps, can be called a sensation.
Belarus - Turkey - 84:70
