The FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup 2020 is scheduled to be held from 24 to 26 September in Antwerp, Belgium.
In the event does take place, Belarusian 3x3 Women's National Team will become one of the participants of the competition.
Taking into account the cancellation of both qualifying tournaments for the continental championship, the originally planned list of participating teams (10 men's and 10 women's teams) will be supplemented by two more teams of each gender, located above the rest of the countries in the FIBA 3x3 ranking (not counting the teams already qualified).
Under the above conditions, the list of participants is as follows:
Men's teams: Belgium, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine.
Women's teams: Belgium, Belarus, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, Ukraine.
The International Basketball Federation continues to consider the possibility of resuming 3x3 basketball tournaments, which have been suspended since March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. FIBA cooperates in this matter with various authorities of those cities where it is planned to hold competitions under its auspices. Thus, active negotiations are already underway with the organizers of the 3x3 Europe Cup, whose matches from September 24 to 26, 2020 are planned to be hosted by the Belgian city of Antwerp. Currently, according to the International Basketball Federation, the host country is committed to ensuring the full implementation of the measures developed by the FIBA Medical Advisory Group on Covid-19 in conjunction with the World Health Organization specifically for basketball events.
By July 2, 2020, the national federations must confirm the intentions of their teams to participate in the 3x3 Europe Cup, as well as obtain approval from the FIBA Medical Advisory Group on Covid-19.
Also, the Women's National U-18 and U-23 Teams are preparing for the World Cup in their age category. It is planned that the juniors will perform on August 26-30 in Hungary, and the youth team will play on September 30-October 4 in China.
The main 3x3 Women's Team continues preparations for the Olympic qualification, which will take place in May 2021.
