On May 28, at 19:00, four professional basketball players virtually competed in NBA 2k20.
The contestants were our bronze medalists of the 2nd European Games-2019 Maksim Liutych, Andrei Rahozenka and Natallia Dashkevich, as well as the center of the Men's National Team Aliaksandr Semianiuk.
The first semi-final on Sony PlayStation 4 console was between Maksim Liutych and Aliaksandr Semianiuk. Maksim led Los Angeles Lakers and Aliaksandr - Houston Rockets. It should be noted that the fight in this pair was quite serious, especially the starting two quarters four minutes each. Both teams went side by side, not wanting to give an advantage to the opponent. In response to the active actions performed by LeBron James and Anthony Davis, James Harden and Russell Westbrook immediately used their trump cards. However, Liutych won the third quarter and that led to a confident advantage, which he managed to keep until the final buzzer - 60:53.
The second pair of rivals - Natallia Dashkevich and Andrei Rahozenka - also demonstrated a beautiful game, using all their esport skills on the virtual court. The only representative of women basketball on this competition forced on a stubborn struggle on a more experienced opponent. And yet, at a turning point, Andrei and his Milwaukee Bucks, led by Yannis Adetokunbo, managed to break away from the Brooklyn Nets, whose actions were led by Natallia. As a result, the match ended with a score of 66:52.
The final game turned out to be interesting and kept the audience in suspense until the last seconds of the meeting. Maksim Liutych, who was inferior at the start, managed not only to return to the game, but also to win in the difficult ending of the match against Andrei Rahozenka. Thus, the champion trophy went to Lutych and his Lakers - 58:51.
Aliaksandr Semianiuk., bronze medalist of the cyber tournament: “It was such an interesting and unusual experience and I had a chance to feel new emotions from eSport. An incredible studio, a friendly atmosphere, a strong opponent - all this caused only positive emotions and left a good impression.”
Natallia Dashkevich, bronze medalist of the cyber tournament: “I admit I was a little nervous to be in such an unusual environment and compete live on television, where viewers watch your actions. Yet, despite this, the whole process of playing and filming has become an interesting adventure for me and communication with other participants gave only positive emotions. Thanks to the organizers for such a great and unusual event.”
Andrei Rahozenka, silver medalist of the cyber tournament: “I had a great time and it was very exciting to compete. In the final, there was a little lack of concentration, which is unacceptable for this kind of competition. I congratulate Maksim on a well-deserved victory and look forward to the opportunity for a revenge."
Maksim Liutych, winner of the cyber tournament: “The tournament turned out really cool. I’ve never been in such an unusual studio, in that kind of atmosphere. Thanks to all for a worthy rivalry and, I hope, we will meet each other more than once, not only on the basketball floor, but also on the virtual court.
